What's new with your dentist, because my experience to get that perfect smile with my dentist was phenomenal. Well, it might sound bizarre when I am describing my experience with my dentist as 'phenomenal', but with Dr. Andrés Arias, a prosthodontist was something unique. His approaches have been revolutionizing the way dentistry is being seen.
Leading digital dentistry and smile design tourism, his attention to detail while performing natural and beautiful porcelain veneers, composite veneers, crowns, and fixed prosthetics is what keeps him ahead of the curve. However, what intrigued me the most was his all-inclusive tourism experience for obtaining my desired-specific teeth by perfectly capturing my natural angles and expression. Well, dentistry never sounded like a treat right?
"It's fulfilling to see the possibility of how a smile can change someone's life, but what's even better is seeing patients simply smiling from eye to eye while reflecting the true emotions they feel," says Andrés. While wanting to learn a little more about his all-inclusive tourism experience, I sat down with him for a quick rendezvous. Here's how it went!
1) Can you give us the details about your Rehabiltador Oral?
It is the most beautiful specialty on dentistry. It is a 3 year post graduate diploma. We are in charge of returning people oral function, confidence and esthetics. Image somebody that is not able to eat well or to smile to his family. Thats what we are in charged of.
2) Please walk us through your expertise and approaches as a prosthodontist?
Since the beginning of my career I felt in love with esthetics, with that emotional feeling of seeing people recovering their confidence through their smile. When I recently graduated from dental school I worked a year with prosthodontist who was a teacher at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where I confirmed that was what I was meant to do for the rest of my life. There I studied three more years to get my specialty degree. In 2018 I returned back to my city (Neiva), to do what nobody else was doing there before. Thats how my dream began.
3) How does your approach to oral health relate to patients’ overall health?
First of all, if you are interested in getting a new smile, is very important for you to have first health, oral function and finally esthetics. For that we have a multidisciplinary team including periodontics, endodontics and orthodontics, to guide our patients for a correct treatment.
4) Attention to detail is critical in dentistry. Can you explain your own orientation in detail?
All great things are related with details. Here everything matters, since the first appointment to having technology to help you improve processes like electric drill, which helps you to save time and reducing anxiety because it is noiseless. Dental loupes to have magnification thus improving precision and details. Digital cameras so you can make 2D predictions. Aiding in digital dentistry like intra-oral scanner to plan different treatments options and making them real.
5) What makes you unique and your services in the field?
I put my heart in all the treatments I perform. I have the support of all my teammates. And we always try to do the more ethical and perfect treatments for all our patients. We remember everybody that comes to us, we are a family.
6) If you had one piece of advice for young dentists starting out, what would it be?
Never stop dreaming, never stop preparing yourself. Try you all to give your best in anything you do at anytime. Keep studying, it worth it.
7) What’s the next big plan for you?
Right now we are building a new dental office, it is going to be a piece of art, like the work we do there. It is going to be ready on this December, and it is for everybody. You are all welcome to visit us.
