1. Can you share any memorable experiences or stories from your journey that had a significant impact on your career?

One day I woke up and just realized that my life was not making me happy. I had a good job, but I did not have a passion. I was juggling 2 jobs and about 90 hours a week to provide for my family and make sure my kids were able to have everything they wanted and needed. But it was at the expense of me being chained to my work desk. I wasn’t able to go on field trips, or volunteer in their classes, or be what I felt was a present mom. I really wanted to go to a more traditional family life and spend more time with them. My husband and I sold our home and bought a small farm, we both quit our regular jobs, and we created 2 businesses. In the span of a year, our entire lives changed. Now I am able to be at all sporting events, class parties, boy scout meetings, etc, but I am also able to have an amazing career serving my clients. I love matching people with their dream homes. Whether it be a first time home buyer, or a luxury client buying a $2 million property in Scottsdale, my clients always get the best!

2. What role has your team at Magnolia Real Estate Group AZ played in your success, and how do you ensure they are motivated and aligned with your vision?

I created this company after some bad experiences in the field and realizing if I wanted my vision and morals to continue to be my own, it was necessary to create my own company. My brokerage, Signature Premier Realty, has been amazing in supporting me. And my mentor Adam Grimes has been a huge support in me achieving my own goals. He is truly a wealth of knowledge. I hope to be hiring agents to my team next year.

3. How has your experience working with VA buyers and PCSing service members enriched your professional and personal life?

My dad is a Navy veteran and 2 of my siblings are currently active duty. One is a captain in the Air force and another just joined the Army.

I realized there are so many agents who truly don’t understand VA loans and see them as a disadvantage. Thinking they require more strict guidelines on inspections and appraisals, etc. I love helping military families! Especially during the stressful times of a PSC. Oftentimes they buy a home with me over facetime and everything is done remotely. The first time they see the home is when they move in. So it's imperative that the home is perfect and exactly what they imagined. These families already sacrifice so much, I’m just happy to be apart of something amazing for them!

4. What trends do you see emerging in the Phoenix real estate market, and how are you preparing to adapt to them?

The Phoenix market is forever changing. We saw huge growth and rising property prices in 2021. That leveled out into 2023, but Phoenix still had a huge lack of inventory for buyers. Because of low inventory, the housing market here has still done very well.

Commercial real estate has also seen big growth. Many people are bringing their businesses here. The West Valley especially has very low inventory for commercial space, and it continues to drive pricing.

5. Can you discuss some of your favorite properties or projects you’ve worked on and what made them special?

On the commercial real estate side, I’ve been lucky enough to work with Dirty Dough Cookies and The Yard Milkshake Bar. Both were amazing clients to work with!

One of my favorite residential properties was a $2.5 million property in Scottsdale. This home was not originally something they were interested in. We had been looking at homes in Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek and San Tan Valley with large lots. Nothing they had seen was hitting the mark. I pulled some properties that were outside of their want list. As soon as we walked inside their eyes lit up. It was recently renovated with amazing attention to detail. And my favorite part of the home was the atrium right in the middle. It was converted to a sitting/porch type area, but all the windows provided so much light throughout the home. It also had a shared fireplace between the primary bedroom and office. It was truly just beautiful.

My favorite part of every closing is matching each client and family with the perfect home for them.

6. What qualities do you believe are essential for someone to be successful in the real estate industry?

Being a realtor requires a lot of self discipline. There is a lot of flexiblity in time, and you are your own supervisor. It requires organization, attention to detail, hard work, and going the extra mile. The number one complaint in my field is lack of communication, not answering phone/text/emails, and not getting back to clients in a timely manner. Every moment counts when you’re listing someone’s home, or working with a buyer. It basically requires 24/7 availability. I work nights, weekends, holidays, at my kids sport and school events, honestly anywhere and anytime, because that’s what it takes.
