When her daughter was prescribed a walker to practice stepping and commented that people were staring but not saying hi, Jacquie challenged herself with, "How can I motivate my girl to step, AND encourage others to look beyond the device and see my incredible child?"

Jacquie believed it was an idea that could make a difference for other families, and launched WAWOS to shift perception of disability, advocate access to adventure for all, and promote inclusion. The all-volunteer organization makes and gives away walkercapes for free to pediatric therapy clinics, rehabilitation hospitals, and directly to families. To-date, they're distributed more than 3500!
